Naruto Season 2 Episode 42: The Ultimate Battle: Cha!
Review Score:

Sakura and Ino prepare for battle. Sakura won’t fight over Sasuke. She then places her forehead protector over her forehead. Ino does the same and the two begin their full power fight. Sakura attempts a replication technique and charges Ino. She builds chakra into her feet to gain speed and smacks Ino. Kakashi watches with pride as he mentions that Sakura has better chakra control than Sasuke.

The fight continues, blow for blow, for 10 minutes. Sakura then taunts Ino to take the match more seriously. Not to be outdone, Ino takes out her shurikan and cuts off her ponytail to signal she’s serious. She then begins Mind Transfer Technique, her special technique that allows her to release her mind energy to take over her opponent’s mind for a few minutes. It’s weakness is that the mind energy released can only move in a straight line and moves rather slowly. If she misses, her mind energy won’t return to her for a few moments. At that point, her body will be like a rag doll. The origin of the technique was for spying, not combat.

Still, Ino is prepared to face the consequences and pulls the technique off. Catching Sakura off guard in a trap, she enters Sakura’s mind. Ino as Sakura begins to raise her hand in surrender, but Naruto, watching concerned from the sidelines, screams to break Ino’s control. It works well enough for Sakura to regain some consciousness and inner Sakura fights back to kick Ino out of her mind.

When Ino returns to her body, the two then begin their final attacks, hinting back to their rivalry as children. They both strike and knock each other out. The match is called – double KO. No one passes.
